Hi to all, Semi retired to a farmhouse in SW France with dark clear skies for astronomy (hence - Nightwatchman) and now rediscovering the enormous delight of listening to music...Classical and Jazz and female vocal...Madelaine Peyroux - Melody Gardot... Iv'e dug out my old Rega Planar 2 with its original tone arm and A&R P77 Cartridge...Needed a new felt platter and drive belt...now running very happily! Just recently acquired a great sounding Cyrus 8 Amp and DVD8 cd player (Thanks Chris) my B&W DM602's never sounded this good. Perhaps a Psx-r and Speaker upgrade next....funds and understanding other half permitting!

Welcome to TAS!
A farmhouse in SW France sounds pretty idyllic to me - is it everything one would imagine it to be?
Great to hear you enjoy classical music - we have a section of the forum dedicated to classical so do drop in ...
I remember demoing a Cyrus II back in the day and was amazed what a difference the PSX made to this amp. So if you enjoy the Cyrus sound I would say it is a must...

Hi and welcome to TAS!
In a departure from convention, what telescope do you have?

Hi, Celestron Nexstar 6 and Celstron 8 with NEQ 6 pro mount. Magical dark skies here and little light pollution.

Thanks for the advice on the psx-r. Yes it's idyllic and more, great neighbours but not that near, which is good as I play drums! Completely quiet except for the birds and my drumming.Drive on very empty roads...and the cost of a bottle of good wine......I musn't go on....oh well just if you need to see the doctor, it's tomorrow at the latest! love the place!

Light pollution one of the curses of the 'civilised' world
