An exemplary example of advertising!
There is a name - why, it's a DDE-1 of course! It is in a category of products designated as optical disc accessories. It can be used with a whole list (provided) of disc formats. It tells you how long it took to develop this wonderful piece of engineering. It tells you exactly how to use it. It gives some specifications.
But it doesn't actually say what the thing does or is supposed to do.
I'd buy one!

To inject a little bit of fairness - you can get one on 60 day moneyback guarantee - I'm tempted to try one just to see, except I don't have any CD's !!

But, as Chris says, to not actually say what it is is some kind of new achievement in marketing.

I'm interested in how this money back guarantee works. If it doesn't do what yer man Russ didn't say it would do, how could I be disappointed with it?
Customer: It didn't make the bass on my hifi sound better Russ: Well, I never said it would
Customer: It didn't turn my Spice Girls CD into a Motorhead CD Russ: Well, I never said it would
Customer: It didn't make my toast crispy enough Russ: Well I never said it would
Nice work if you can get it.

My guess is that it's similar to the Bedini Clarifiers. They "work" in a way that's not universally accepted, if I understand it correctly. I like Bedini amps and so I tried a Clarifier (used). I did hear a difference but it seemed to make the sound worse with the discs I tried. Even though the effect is supposed to wear off, I only tried 3 discs; so hardly a reliable experiment. Besides, my "worse" will inevitably be someone else's "better"

Compare with the Nespa Pro which I use a lot and definitely improves CDs.

I assumed it was probably something like your Nespa.

No, that's an optical treatment using high power flash. This seems to be demagnetisation, or something?
