Sorry Martin, Missed your comment. Yes is a standard coil for a old fashion car, you recall the ones your dad cursed but you could fix yourself. It is running from a resonant PSU as you change the load it adjust the frequency to provide a max output of about 200KV. It was a experiment to remove smut from a diesel engine exhausts and it worked, but the guy I sent 4 to in the USA blew a hole into is hand to see if it was working what a wallie. The first one here set fire to the grass in the garden for about 4ft around it so I had to set the max power down a bit. No when you audible modulate the HF power line it sing like a tweeter, not bad for a arc. So next one will be much bigger and using Aluminium and steel electrodes as the plasma gets to 12,500 deg C. Arc eye in about 10mS, done it spent 2 week blind in Harlow Hospital circa 1986 So do not do this at home kids, I am crazy so it OK for me he he

And I thought that you had been told this Friday is Fish and Chips in Quillan - and marvelled at how news travels. It is Fish and Chips - PMU bar 7.30, but that isn't what you had in mind

The best speakers I ever heard had a plasma tweeter, can't remember their name at the moment but they were (from memory) from Germany.

The Lansche No 7 is in my HiFi bucket - but a tad outside my price range.

These are my top speaker, so far. Acapella Campanile MK IV. The Campanile is built from a ION/plasma tweeter in its own enclosed chassis; a midrange (non-compression) horn, built using a very strong and thick acoustically neutral composite material using a Dynaudio driver; and four 10″ SEAS drivers for woofers in individual rather large sealed enclosures (2 woofers per 30″ by 12″ by 28″ heavily braced box). The Campanile Highs are the same as the Campaniles except that there is significantly more internal bracing and dampening, and more expensive components and Acapella’s own silver wiring are used in the cross-over.The Campanile is shipped in 3 sections (top, middle, and bottom) and the middle section can be detached from the horn assembly, if desired. The tweeter comes in its own 30lb chassis that slides into the back of each Campanile.

This is a friend of mine. He used an entirely different method to the common diy plasma tweeter that was doing the rounds 10 years ago. He had a load of heart ache with it, was featured on a few TV programs elswhere, but not in the UK. He has invented stuff and paid for protection but he said any money you make goes to paying lawyers, so his advise is if you come ip with something just sell it don't protect it and take the money for the time it takes before it is stolen. You get more money that way than you do giving all your money to lawyers.

Last I heard he was trying to get the transformers made that didn't fry. Don't think he did get it into production.
It started because I emtioned plasma tweeters. Richard rather than follow the diy method well known thought of his own way. He has gone for a wider bandwidth, that I consider unnecesary. All the sound you hear in this video is entirely made by that plasma arc.
I don't care for his taste in music.

Fantastic I love it, transformer could be a resonant and in oil with the core on the outside like the transformers in XRAY power packs. 100KV at 1Amp not a problem. As to Lawyer and patents I have few "T" Shirt to prove him right on the money with his thoughts. That why in the end TQ never told anybody how I designed the cables, and I used the KISS designs I love.

He doesn't come into the public domain.
