listening to my well worn vinyl copy of "Script For A Jesters tear" for the first time for quite a while and although it is not the best audiophile recording , it is still one of the most exciting Marillion albums i own . i love the newer albums after 'Fish' left , but i still think this is one of the best !! i would be interested to hear your opinions

Tim is a massive fan of them. I saw them a very long time ago when no-one including me had heard of them. Didn't go much on 'em to be honest. Tim recommended a few of their more recent albums to me and those I've heard, I enjoyed a lot. Here's the thread. Saw them at Cropredy the year before last and they were great. Fish, the world's most famous failed forester went to the same college as I did - the National School of Forestry - I passed the course though!

Like Chris saw them in their early days at the Marquee and was not really blown away. I used to have Grendal on 12" which would probably be worth quite a lot if I kept it

I used to have Grendal on 12" which would probably be worth quite a lot if I kept it That would be worth a fortune now John. As Chris says I'm a big fan of Marillion, but the real band not the short lived Derek Dick pop band. I never liked them prior to H joining and don't play anything prior to Seasons End, although I do have a rather large Marillion collection! I have the utmost respect for them now both as musicians and people. No other band quite like them when it comes to interacting with their fans. There's a new album due shortly, they have all the music and are due to finalise it at Peter Gabriel's Real World studios. Promises to be good by all accounts. Some of the best live shows I have seen too, went to a Marillion convention a few years ago, that was some weekend. 3 days of Marillion and the chance to rub shoulders with them all in a very relaxed setting - top blokes one and all. They call their fans part of the Marillion family and it really is like that
Favourite albums are too hard to pick really as I like them all (post Dick), but Brave, Marbles, Less Is More and Sounds that can't be Made are right up there.

I practically stopped listening to music in the early 80's and it was Script for a Jesters Tear that got me going again , I've got all the Fish era albums but none after.
