This BBC doc is a must for any of you who enjoy the work of the great man. A nicely put together programme which offers some interesting insights into the background of his major works ... He lived through such turbulent times, maybe as a result of which he penned some of the most expressive and soul-searching compositions of the 20th century. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p039q3qd/the-joy-of-rachmaninoff

Thanks, Jules, will watch that this week. Interesting the variations in spelling of his name: I've always used Rachmaninov.
