I wonder what the demand would be for a "box" to digitize the output from a record deck and play it back through a DAC ?

You can already buy USB turntables, I guess that would be the next step. However, it's usually the 'turntable' bit that leaves a lot to be desired.

I think the Sony deck could sell well, especially if it's 'plug and play' so to speak. At £400 that is very affordable, I wonder if that includes the cartridge? Vinyl sales continue to grow significantly....
edit (post script): according to whathifi it will have an MM cartridge.

I wonder what the demand would be for a "box" to digitize the output from a record deck and play it back through a DAC ? Ask asked Martin to test a design of mine, but unfortunately it is only MM. So he couldn't help out since he has a MC setup. So I am redesigning it to also accept MC.
