Hi Commrades Im not sure if this is the right spot to discuss this.
However i have a 90's Yamaha 'A3000' Sampler in which at the time i bought an External Iomega '100' Zip drive to use with it instead of the intergrated Floppy drive. Back then i think i was using Windows '95 OS. What im wanting is an high quality SCSI to USB adaptor so that i can transfer some WAV Files/Loops from my Laptop to the ZIP Drive. The only thing is does anyone recon i could get hold of a driver for it to use with Windows 8 OS or will i have to maybe try source an old Lappy with '95'?
Edit: Just a thought maybe a cheap old Apple 'G4' these had Zip drives built into em?

Ive had second thoughts about using the ZIP drives because thinking about it, it's best i put them to rest for flash drive. Ive PM'd you all the same.

Very sensible - I don't think I would trust such ancient technology ! (Zip drives were a wonderful stopgap between floppies and USB drives but hideously expensive at the time !)

Beware the " Click of Death" I hadn't looked at that page since I was using Zip Drives "professionally" backing up stuff on a Win95 intranet.

If anyone has CD Rom in an outboard case id be interested. Must have SCSI tho.. I don't want to budge from The Yammy 'A3000' Sampler because it sounds superb. I sold on my Akai 'S1000' Sampler which was Industry standard back then to buy this.. The '3000' cost me about £1200 back when i bought it.. I wouldnt be seen dead with these new Software Samplers. www.matrixsynth.com/2011/10/yamaha-a3000-v2-smapler-with-original.html

The problem is that some of these SCSI boards may need drivers and there would be no way of injecting them in. I don't know how you could guarantee success without trying it.

I haven't seen a SCSI external CD-ROM drive in many years. My NEC Multispin 6X (model CDR-602) has two SCSI I/O bus, A & B.
I purchased two as new old stock a while ago and they work well as CD players as they have analog and digital (SPDIF) outputs through RCA sockets.
I've never tried the SCSI outputs so can't comment.
I could be persuaded to sell one of mine and would include a caddy.

I had a blue IOmega internal drive that went into 'click of death'. That was my first and last foray into ZIP drives.
