Here's a teaser for you. Would a speaker cable that sounds fine with solid state be equally suitable for a valve amplifier? Do 'you' have a cable that is especially suited/preferred for use with valves?

There have been cables marketed as for valves(can't remember the name of it though) but it really shouldn't make a difference. I use this and cannot recommend it highly enough. www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/291614662789

Hi Chris , do you use this as a single or double run . I just put this into my system today , 2 runs per channel and it sounds very promising indeed .

I can't see that valves or silicon can determine a cable type, the synergy would be too unpredictable. As John says, try different cables and see what works.

Before I read that link, my guess would be that speaker cables are working in series with 50m or so of transformer windings.
