Hello guys.
I'm tinkering and mounting my music system, newbie level, of course.
Now I’m just waiting for some presents for my PC, these are coming from UK.
To get the best of my components, I need a couple of cables, one USB (A to B) and one RCA, this one short, because the DAC (HRT Music Streamer II) is next to the amp (ifi ICAN V1).
I’m quite sceptical about the cables, but I think than a correct cables are better than the Chinese shop at 1 £.
If the musical profile is important, I’m looking for a plenty bass more than a brilliant treble.
And I don’t want to spend to much because, as I said before, I’m sceptical and the equipment to be connected is obviously not a flagship.
Then, about 30 £ max. Do you recommend me any?

I too was sceptical about cables. Tried them and heard the difference. (Not used USB cables)
One that comes to mind is Mark Grant for value for money. There is also Ebay and I have a vast, upgraded collection I should sell !

They also make a good and cheap USB cable. Here is the digital coax version: www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-PureAV-Digital-Coaxial-AD80100-1M/dp/B004VM6LSIIt sells in some places for £60 to £80, but is rather less than a tenner here!

If the RCA ended cable is for digital use then I seem to remember there being an optimum length of about one metre, something to do with signal wavelength ?
So, a short cable may not be the best for you.
Also, do digital cables need to be 50 ohm rather than 75 ohm ?

Any cheap Printer USB will do Really, USB cable doesn't matter? The RCA cable is analogic, to connect DAC to amp.

Mark Grant doesn't seem to offer his good value cables any more.
