Might be a surprise for a few that it starts next Saturday ......
- in Yorkshire, yes the one in England
Stage 1 . Leeds - Harrogate Stage 2. York - Sheffield Stage 3. Cambridge - Londres
A 'normal' slot by the side of the road, you blink and they went so you might need to think where to be if you want to watch, bearing in mind that 50,000 others might have worked it out before you
then to France for just under 3 weeks

I'll be missing it this year. It's been pretty close for the last couple of years.

The tour passes the top of my road, literally 2 mins walk, why would anyone want to stand waiting for hours then watch a load of men on bikes riding past? 2 Minutes and its all over?
Strange to me!

You'll be lucky to see 2 minutes when the bunch goes past Whoosh - about that fast on a normal road TV more civilised

Hi All,
1st post, TDF team presentation is on ITV4 live right now.
What are your views of the favourites this year, Froome didn't fare well in the Dauphine but he could ride into form, Contador looks good and Nibali will be a main threat, most controversial issue is no Sir Wiggans.
Enjoy the race everyone.

I'm taking my info from the press and the web
Froome with Contador challenging. Maybe a dark horse in there
Froome has shown he is not bullet proof whereas Contador seems to be ! Can Sky control and possibly bore us, but we want Froome to win don't we ?
I hope Cav does well, but I think he will have to compete better than he has ever done

Tens of thousands of Brits (mostly I assume) cheering on a German in the Tour de France going up a steep hill in Yorkshire.
This is like any mountain stage in France ! - possibly busier

Switched over to the footie straight after the finish, shame about the ending, hope Cav is o.k to continue.
The crowd was something else, to end the day with the gathering around the huge screen rivals anything, and the sport is Cycling !!!, it showcase Britain as a great organiser of great events, BEST OF BRITISH.

I saw loads of cyclists on the country roads this morning between Finchampstead and Basingstoke. Far more than usual. Must get mine fettled and on the road again.

Yeah, same effect here in Glasgow, seen lots more cyclists on my travels, maybe the Commonweath Games effect too.
Ditto Chris, love to see the prowess of top sprinters at full flight, Cav will be missed, other than that, love to see Froome do it again, also interesting to see if Talansky is as some make out to be, according to what i've read, i love his style of racing, like Sean Kelly and Alexander Vinokourov before him.
