Just back from a week's break in Greece and I thought some folks might be amused by the sight I saw on a hairpin bend near the summit of a steep climb. Just look at the tarmac spaghetti below the edge of the slope. The roadside scene conjured up images in my mind of a Greek version of 'Last of the Summer Wine' - you know the kind of thing: four old gits tramp off to sit in their favourite spot and natter about crap for hours on end, imagining they are some sort of philosophers. Mind you, when you see the view, you can kind of understand why they might want to sit and stare blankly at it....

It does seem to be one of those places that people tend to go back to. This trip was probably our 5 or 6th there too.

With my in-laws being on the mainland, we rarely get to go to the islands, but have very much enjoyed Thassos, Limnos and especially Samothraki which was really quite magical...

Three years later and it's time to revisit to this thread. Well, the 2015 vintage retsina has been finished and they seem to have opened another bottle...
