I think it's a bit presumptuous to assume it's bodged and dangerous! When building for ones self the "time is money" bit doesn't apply so as much care and attention as one wants can be lavished on the build...

I've seen some dreadful self-builds at various audio fairs, so buying blind is a risk.

The thing is Jez, whereas if you were to buy it, you have the knowledge to know whether it is OK or not, and furthermore, the ability to sort it out.
Our Chris here, however, is not blessed with those gifts.

Point is, why is it that there appears to be no facility to delete posts? I fluffed it up first time around, and it wouldn't behave itself when I tried to edit it to say what I meant. I'm using Firefox, should things be browser dependant. |

No, your humiliation and incompetence should be there for all to see for all time. Very few (if any?) forums allow anyone below the rank of moderator to delete posts. When it happens to me (which is quite often with this forum's software!) I just edit and replace the offending post with a . and pretend it was a double post!  |

No, your humiliation and incompetence should be there for all to see for all time.  Very few (if any?) forums allow anyone below the rank of moderator to delete posts. When it happens to me (which is quite often with this forum's software!) I just replace the offending post with a . and pretend it was a double post! Most of the forums I come out to play on give a grace period where it's possible to delete a post. It's useful. Ask MartinT |

I had a right problem being "regular". Go for a forest gump every morning at 6. Problem was I wasn't getting up till 7.  |
