You appear to misunderstand somewhat. New, as in unused. Old stock, as in unsold when they were a current model/product.
i.e. New, but not current merchandise.

NOS items can sometimes be very pricy, such as NOS Mullard valves. As stocks dwindle, so the prices go up.
