Be Bop Deluxe
Great musicians with a lot going on instrumentally, lyrically. Great sound effects every now and again and twiddly bits. Well put together.
Could be called Prog or glam rock, but glam only as they dressed up a bit
Dynamic and interesting music.
Probably John Peel that put me onto Be Bop Deluxe Not Be Bop by the way just very nice music
Axe Victim (1974) Futurama (1975) Sunburst Finish (1976) Modern Music (1976) Live! In The Air Age (1977) Drastic Plastic (1978)
Sunburst Finish is the strongest album for me, only a short head in front of Drastic Plastic, Futurama, Modern Music Live in the air age is well worth having even though the tracks are already on the studio albums. Axe Victim still worth having
Basically Bill Nelson's band with many personnel changes.
He split the band and after that mostly made solo albums from a room at his home - mighty fine too. Some dalliance with short lived bands
Do your self a favour and have a listen to all the albums again if you have them or for the first time

A great talent
Embarrassing for most of us that he never intended to go into music but has such talent

I will add one to this list Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Nick a good song writer who has a dark edge to his lyrics My two personal favourites are Murder Ballads and The Boatman Calls. The first one is Nick looking at murder stories to create songs, the Boatman calls is more a reflective album around his relationships

I'd say Carl Broemel, I was introduced to him via Spoitify... He's a Singer/Songwriter who's only done one album but it is rather nice if a little tame in places...

How about Tom Russell? He's an American singer-songwriter who tours over here quite often. Borderland is a good album to start with. Tom Russell
