I completely love Christmas as it's the only time I can fully let go of work, shut the business down , button down the hatches and spend time with friends and family, but I'm not so keen on all the mass marketing that goes along with it

I think my Sisters bought her Christmas presents already. Were smart we buy them a year before when they sell the christmas stock off the year before I love Christmas but i detest all the Hype that is attached.

Christmas would be great if it started at Christmas, maybe a week before at most. By the start of November I'm sick of having it rammed down my throat by commercial and marketing s***e. We've got calendars, we all know it's coming!

Agreed, it's made me quite cynical about the whole thing. Then there's family pressure and who/when to see

"Were smart we buy them a year before when they sell the christmas stock"
I only do that with Christmas Puddings - they're half price and taste better the following year...

No thanks

Bah humbug. Happy Christmas Jez.
I take it you are not religious, or do you reserve your Christian fervour for Easter?
Anyway - Xmas? Are you referring to Christ's Mass? It is only an "abomination" because you have fallen for the marketing hype trap, and not what is is really all about, which is a religeous festival.
