I see that Roksan have a new tonearm. They have waved their magic wand and ..kazam!.. a £400 arm becomes a £1,400 arm! See for yourself

I wouldn't be surprised to find that Project manufacture the arm for Roksan. You might even find that the guys behind The Wand manufacture the arm for Roksan.

The latter, or a variation of it, where they supply the bits, is what I had imagined.

Project have been using carbon fibre on some of their turntables for a fair while too. I had a look at the Roksan manual pdf, and there's an Ortofon stylus balance in the box. Ortofon have had a tie up with Project from day one - Project supply their lower down the range TTs with an Ortofon cartridge, and there are options to supply higher end Ortofon cartridges as the TT gets up to the top of the Project range. Maybe I'm reading too much into the stylus balance being there

I think you may be. Some of the bits at the blunt end look a lot like the Wand too.

Thanks. Knew I'd seen that overall shape somewhere. Talk about pricing to their brand.

is a Wand tonearm re-worked to roksan specs - if you want to hear one
This fantastic opportunity for fans and audiophiles to hear the albums before they go on sale takes place at 12 noon on the Saturday and Sunday, during the UK’s only independent hi-fi show, held at Whittlebury Hall, Northamptonshire.
Five years in the making "Queen: The Studio Collection” brings together the complete collection of 15 studio albums, re-mastered by the legendary Bob Ludwig and mastered for half speed vinyl cutting by Miles Showell at Abbey Road. Encased in a beautifully crafted box and complete with a lavishly illustrated 108-page book, featuring material from Queen’s archive and the personal archives of Brian May and Roger Taylor, these classic albums are presented in the highest possible audio quality for die-hard fans and audiophiles alike.
Clarity members AudioQuest, Henley Designs, PMC and The Multi-Room Company will put together a top quality hi-fi system comprising the Roksan Xerxes 20plus turntable fitted with the VSC2 power supply, Pug tonearm and Ortofon Anna cartridge; Parasound’s JC3+ phono stage; Bryston BP26 pre-amplifier; cabling from AudioQuest and the £45,000 PMC MB2S XBD-A loudspeakers, as used by Miles Showell at Abbey Road. The ultra-high resolution system will show off the audio quality of the box set with incredible detail and help create a feeling of actually being at the recording sessions, reproducing the energy and atmosphere that was felt when Freddie, Brian, Roger and John originally put the tracks together.

Um no arm in the whole universe will have me selling my 1972 SME arm. Its hard work listening to modern arms like the wand when you have a collection of vintage arms like the SME 3009 etc etc

Not at all, I like vintage arms and have a few, many of them easily out-perform the modern ones.

My 'vintage' arm (well, the first one came out in the 1970s and mine was designed in 1984) is still going strong and also kicks many a modern arm in performance.
