Ah the Sanders / Innersound stuff. Perhaps not a huge difference to my old M/L Prodigies ? I also cross over my current 12" x 48" 'stat panels at about 200Hz to passive bass units which allows the panels to play louder and the integration is reasonably good. But I've never heard the Sanders gear - anyone ?

I've only heard the Sander Magtech power amp, which was good but couldn't reach the heights of performance of my Chord. Apparently the Sanders panels work very well with the Magtech in a symbiotic relationship.

I had the Sanders Magtech amp on dem - it was a bit of a smoothie. Huge surging power delivery, but all just a bit slow and smoothed over imo.
I can't recall what my amp de jour was, but it saw off the Magtech for me.

The more modern Tannoy dual concentric drivers definitely have a lower treble colouration that, once noticed, is annoyingly obvious and can be heard on many recordings. Older ones in large rear loaded cabinets have an altogether different mix of colourations - mostly in the bass. A friend of mine built some very stiff cabinets for his Golds, then converted them to active operation (which didn't do much for them) and eventually removed the Tannoy driver and fitted one from Eminence coupled to a tweeter - this sounded altogether better.

Yes, I'm sure Jerry appreciates they are the monitor of choice for the discerning studio...

Well, they need to know how the music will sound in the typical crap home audio system.

I've only heard some martin logons and a pair of els 57 the best sound I ever heard from a speaker set-up where by far the els57 being driven by a Linsley hood,a real slice of heaven unfortunately my room is far to small to accommodate them ,But it's stats all the way for me.

Stats do soundstage extraordinaire and filigree detail, but they don't do slam very well. The Martin Logan CLX are the best I've heard, coming closer to the sound I prefer.

Well, the Tannoys have long gone. Do miss them for some music but cant accommodate both. I've had quite a chat with Mr Sanders with his stuff (and he is ever so helpful). They sound the ideal speaker for me (unless Jerry would like to part with his MBLs for a song) but the 10s are out of my wallets reach. There is a smaller 11 version (think ML Aerius dimensions) but not sure if it is still made. Mind you, still pushing £5k (complete with Behringer active crossover unit).
Shame I parted with the old Audiostatic Wings before I got the Lyngdorf gear. May have had a better chance of integrating them actively (the Final sub I had then was rubbish). Now they were THE most transparent speaker I have ever owned. But on their own did not do bass or dynamics.
I've emailed Ben Peters about the new MDI Audiostatics but unlikely to ever get a reply - let alone get to hear a pair.

Been there with the Prodigies. Stats were OK but bass seemed out of step. Was thinking of some Quad 2905s (used) but size is an issue. I would have to use them without the Lyngdorf bass units and could only get them 2 feet from the wall behind. Starting to think I may just stick with my slightly upgraded Final 400i until I get a house with a bigger, or separate, room.

I found 2905s to be very detailed but bass light and strangely lacking in macro-dynamics.
