Do share how the brew worked Ron Hi John, just a quick re-visit update. The brew I used, guided by the London Jazz Centre brew, works for me just as well as the Right One which I have used up until now. If anything my records look cleaner and play just as well so for me its a winner. Its a good thing as I'm dead fussy. I will put details on another post so as not to tread on Doc Stewart's toes, his stuff is good by the way so keep buying if you don't want to roll your own. He did finally contact me with helpful info on ordering plus prices to which I have acknowledged.

As I said in my reply to Ron, the London Jazz Centre mix has no anti stat element, Ilford state that Ilfotol is not anti stat, which is why they sell anti stat film wipes. Also, with the Right One, we use really pure lab grade materials because it really is necessary. I've dealt with problems people have had using tap water to clean vinyl.

Hi all, just a note to say the eBay shop is up and running again, due to the larger quantities I'm ordeing the base chemistry in these days, I've been able to reduce the price of the record cleaning fluid. I now have a 1 litre size available for those who asked, and the existing 500ML and 5 Litre sizes. The store is at stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Right-One-HiFi. Cheers

Cheers Hi Paul, I'm glad things are getting back to some form of normality for you. I have two questions if that's ok. - does your RCM fluid have a shelf life? Ie is it ok after say a year in the bottle? This would influence the quantity I'd purchase at a time. - did you you get to test & produce the fluid for cleaning 78s? Cheers, Clive

Hi Clive,
As to the shelf life of "The Right One" as far as I know, providing the bottle is kept closed between uses to prevent evaporation, it's good until used. When the problem of enzyme/mould was first seen in organic cleaners, such as L'Art du Son I made up a control batch of TRO and I have been cleaning a record every six months from that sample to see if a) the efficacy deteriorates and b) if there is any growth. There has been zero growths in the fluid and it is not refrigerated or kept in the dark, it's on the shelf by the RCM. The sample is now over ten years old and going strong, I feel sure it will run out before it goes off. As records are often effected by mould, fungus and mildew, part of the design brief I set myself when developing TRO was that it had to be anti fungal etc.
As for 78s I have 3 formulas that will get into the grooves and loosen the grime quite well, but I'm checking for long term use effect, whether the product goes off and again anti fungal properties. Testing is under way and I hope to have a winner later this year. I also have a CD cleaner under test and various other products.
Cheers

Since my initial hiccup in not being able to get a response from Paul, post #1, I must now give him praise for swift and speedy delivery of an order, nope it wasn't record cleaning fluid, I make my own due to the high number of records to be cleaned and plain monetary consideration. On Monday late evening this week I placed an order for one of the Doc's record wet cleaning brushes, it arrived this arvo... thats what I call service. Contrast this with British Audio with whom I placed an order for Moth RCM vacuum velvet pads on 5th September, two emails, two phone calls and here we are 11 days down the road and still no receipt of goods. Small self adhesive pads that are easily put into your common type envelope. After eventually getting a response that goods ordered and paid up front would be dispatched first class last Monday, Nada, blink, zilch. Just goes to show that some business attitude towards customer service is excellent and others don't realise that without customer good will their business will suffer a boycott and a move towards another source of supply.
PS Doc, I don't know if you're implying that I use tap water, I referring to your reply to one of my earlier posts, but let me disabuse you of this. I would not dream of doing so especially as I live in a hard water area and me and my beloved records have been around a hell of a long time, 50 plus years. As for anti static, I use a Milty Zero stat to zap my cleaned records prior to insertion into Nagoka antistat inner sleeves, plus the use of both a fine Garrard goat hair brushes to remove any likely hood of dust particles and also a purpose earth grounded wire for my Furutech SK-II electrostatic brush... thats me being ultra fussypot. When I can find a safe and workable solution to add an antistat infusion to my brew I will do so. Want to give me any guidance on this one ? Go on, make me love you

I ordered a bottle of 'The Right One' and cleaned my first batch today.
First results are very promising - a couple of Oxfam bought 12"s now have near cd like backgrounds but also really improved on a record I cleaned only the other week.
My other cleaner is a fair bit more economical being a concentrate, but have been a little dissapointed with recent results - if this proves to be better I will stick with it.

Hi Jules,
Glad "The Right One" is working for you. The 5 Litre size is the best for economy, by the time you get lab quality distlled water to mix with the concentrate, considering our price includes delivery, I think there is not a great deal in the price. Plus the fact that users say it betters anything out there, for cleaning, lacck of mould growth after use and shelf life. If you buy a concentrate that goes off before you have used more than a third of it, there's no great economy.
Enjoy the music

How can I try some in Australia? Good question as I have had problems shipping liquid overseas. My new couriers do do overseas shipping, I'll ask on Monday and let you knpw what it will cost, then you can decide if you want to try it. Cheers

Hey Paul, it's nice to see you around. Have your radio station podcasts started up again?

Hey Paul, it's nice to see you around. Have your radio station podcasts started up again? In the new year I hope Martin, had real problems with cowboy plumbers employed by our freeholders, caused a leak that lost 85k gallons of water under the house. We have had to have a water soaked wall removed and replaced. Hence the studio has not been rebuilt yet.

It's easily the best fluid I've tried, plus I met Paul at Whittlebury, he is an absolute gent.

Just ordered some - I've not exactly been bowled over by what I've tried so far (the stuff that comes with the Okki Nokki, and the MoFi super deep cleaner), and I'm looking forward to giving The Right One a go.
