.... DIY cleaning fluid mix? I've been cleaning alot of records lately, long over due, using both a wet bath method (Spin clean, Knosti etc) first and finished off on a RCM (Moth Pro, reverse spin) on the more suspect thrift shop buys. Whilst searching around on the Inty I noticed that some bods add a squirt of Dishwasher Rinse aid to their mix. Now I know that this shines up plates, glasses etc., my everloving and long suffering gal uses it in our Bosch machine to great effect but who amongst us uses it for cleaning our precious vinyl... do tell please, and will it be detrimental to the well being of said precious vinyl???!
I've been buying commercial record cleaning fluid from the likes of Russ Andrews at about £15.00p a litre bottle which cost about the same as a bottle of scotch or vodka, or three bottles of good super market wine. Now, this irks me somewhat as the main ingredient seems to be 80 to 90% distilled, ionised, or purified water.
I have considered the Clearaudio fluid but at £40.00p for 0.5litres it stretches money for value perceptions severely, I mean I have to eat now and again. Having over 50 years of vinyl collecting to rejuvenate adds up to a lot of money travelling the commercial bought route!
Anyone able to advise and guide me on this one please? Thanks, JB.
PS I'm aware of the DIY IP, distilled water + Ilford Ifotol method and I am considering making my own and wonder about the above additive?

The best fluid in existence IMO is made by Paul Stewart he is on AOS, its called The Right One. Ron if you don't want to go on AOS (don't blame you) to find Pauls details I will pm you if you need them. I use that it's good, no i have no desire to go there ever again either.
