for the last couple of my music 'sessions' i have been using either a Quad 520f or Sony 55ES power amps , but tonight i am going back to the 'bottles' and have put the Beard P100 Monoblocks into service . first on the turntable is Diana Krall 'masterpiece "Love Scenes' (now costs around £40 but worth every penny) , and i have got to say the 'Big Black Buggers' are sounding wonderful !!!

The last time I saw Beard monoblocks was decades ago.

Nice... Whatever floats your boat bud. Good choice of LP. I took leave of my senses last week and following a conversation with a nice chap who lives in Germany (he was ordering a PSU off us for his NAS drive) he mentioned some class D power amps as being particularly good. I was thinking devialet sort of sound without the price tag. I bought two and have them working as monoblocks at the moment, I have to say for the money they are very good indeed even though they won't be classed as hifi!

I've taken a close look at those Crowns too, David. This after I tried my son's Carvin guitar amp in my system some years ago and was very pleasantly surprised at its performance. Reckon the Crown could be an even less expensive alternative to the Benchmark class D semi-pro / hi-fi product.
