Hi everyone.
Lots of familiar faces here and more to follow I'm sure.
I am more of a music fan than equipment fan and so my main system has remained pretty much unchanged for the last 25 years.
So I don't have to have a silly signature, I'll list here the once and be done with it.
Main system: Origin Live based TT/OL modded RB250/Technics 205/ Firebottle phono, Pioneer PD7700 CDP, Creek passive/Firebottle OTL amp, Quad 57. Bed 1: Phillips CD608, Pioneer CT737 Cassette, Pioneer A757 amp, Mac Mini, Home made speakers = 12" + HF1300 + T27 Bed 2: Pioneer PL112D/Shure M75ED, Marantz CD63SE, Quad FM4, Musical Fidelity A100 amp, KEF 101s Snug1: Mac Pro/iTunes, Rogers Ravensbourne, Wharfedale Diamond 7 Pros System 5 under development: Marantz CD62, A&R Arcam Alpha amp, Teufel Ultima 80s Leak Stereo 20 resting at the mo.
All systems have bits of wire between the various components.
So for a non equipment person there seems to be a bit or two. However, I need the occasional play with some toys.

Hello 'nodrog' (what kind of name is that?) and welcome to TAS. I've always wondered what the OL turntable is like so do tell. Oh, I've just clocked 'Steadman' so I think you're Gordon if I remember correctly

I always was backward The OL is made from the kit that they offered as their first TT. The only thing remaining is the vinyl platter and the bearing. I made the rest. To me, its extremely good. I've compared it directly to certain DDs, my own Garrard 301 and several others over the years. It just lets me listen to the music without worrying about the sound - all I ask of any equipment.

That Technics EPC cartridge has a great reputation, too.

Indeed. sadly. I have to put up with an aftermarket stylus as the originals are like hen's teeth. However, even with that, it remains the most neutral cartridge I have ever heard.
I had a new one back in the day but this one came with a boot fair purchase! Would you believe it was on a Garrard Zero100 which cost me £5? It survived though.

Hi Gordon. Good to see you. How lovely to have somewhere to chat again! I have tales to tell about U205's when I come out. I'll bring the Jico stylus out if I can get it back from AK
Edit - bloody hell - I need to do something about that Avatar of mine. I wondered who I was!

Wot? How can one question the thoughts of genius? Well that's kind of you Gordon, I guess I might have been wrong about something at some point in my life, but to be honest I can't think when that was?
