Well, the title got you in here, didn't it? What I meant of course was this thread serves two purposes. #1 - The site below might be of interest to anyone liking the "Original Album Series" of CDs. For those of you who haven't come across it before (the must be someone) it's a series that parcels together a bunch of albums (usually 5) by an artist and bungs them out as a budget set. For instance, I bought both of their Emmylou Harris releases to duplicate some of her vinyl albums that I own and got 10 CDs for the grand total of £19.98 courtesy of Amazon. You'll quite probably be surprised by a lot of their content even if you have seen or bought some of their sets before, and it's all parcelled up for you here... Original Album SeriesBet you can't stop yourself from ordering at least one set. Amazon stock most, if not all, of them. #2 - David Gilmour reveals details of new solo albumDavid Gilmour has confirmed release details of his new solo album, Rattle That Lock. The Pink Floyd member’s first LP in 10 years will arrive on September 18th. End of transmission. As you were.

Original Album series is bonkers for prices.
Really does seem like an (almost) free lunch.
Can be sillier 2nd hand and on Ebay
Could have saved myself some real money if I'd discovered a few years earlier

They are superb, aren't they? Excellent value for someone wanting a digital version of albums they have had for years on vinyl and a much better way of sampling a band you don't know than just buying some crappy compilation album.

Strictly speaking, 9 years but thanks for the heads up on the boxed sets. Bet I can't resist, too!

As an addendum to this post (and sparked by ChrisB's spotting of a 5 for 1 album set of Teenage Fanclub) there is an "Original Album Classics" series to go alongside the "Original Album Series" errr..series. Here's a link to a list of the Original Album Classics list. www.discogs.com/label/276597-Original-Album-Classics It's probably not up to date, but it's a good list. The other option is just to put "Original Album Classics" in the search bar at Amazon and see what pops up.

Confusing nomenclature, but that's no reason not to hoover the buggers up!
