RVW is one of my favourite composers and certainly my favourite English one.
Interesting, as well, hearing the Lark in its original guise for piano and violin alone.

... it would be fascinating to scan through that original score and see/hear the 1st version underneath!
Surprised no-one has done that, tbh - maybe they will now that it has been highlighted by the programme.

Yes it's sublime with either piano or orchestra but the first time I have heard it played just with piano ...
RVW has a unique 'voice' and at his best is evocative in a way that no other English composers have quite managed.
