The violin seems to be rarely associated with RS but there are some good recordings that should not be missed The Violin Concerto Violin Sonata Metamorphosen scored for ten violins, five violas, five cellos, and three double basses

Peter Strauss and the trumpet.
I seem to remember his character, Rudi Jordache? in Rich Man, Poor Man, played one.
In one episode he entertained with "Stardust". Pretty good. Don't think it was him playing though.

That's a shame, friston has departed. Shame, some interesting classical music suggestions from him. I shall chase up the violin concerto and play it in his memory. -- and of course, there are some wonderful violin solos in 4 Last Songs.

I and others have very much enjoyed your insights and recommendations for different classical recordings and it would be a great shame to lose these.

-- and of course, there are some wonderful violin solos in 4 Last Songs. There certainly are. I still mean to write up a comparison of all my recordings of the Four Last Songs one day when I have a peaceful few hours in front of my system.

Well, once again, I am somewhat surprised how one posting of intended humour, seemingly cannot be tolerated. Is my sense of humour really so devisive? Tell you what Mr Friston, you stay, I'll go. Think perhaps I may have had enough of forums.

Erm, guys, all this flouncing off is a bit dramatic, don't you think?
Is it really necessary to take such offence at a single post that you can't suck it up and move on?
