The Audio Standard First Anniversary Competition
The Audio Standard Forum is one year old and so, to celebrate, we decided to hold a competition for our members.
It's a caption competition, for which there will be a range of five extraordinarily high value, unique and, quite frankly, hugely generous prizes, the like of which has never been assembled in one place before (.........possibly).
A note that may (or may not) assist you in your deliberations: For the last month or so, we have been bouncing around a few captions for the picture behind the TAS curtains and we have come to know the lady in question as Betty. Her husband may (or may not) be called Frank.
So, without further ado, we'd like your thoughts on the matter in hand. The picture will appear in the next post.

"Honey, which tape did you say I have to load for the 30 degree wool wash in this system, and which machine? They both say DM70 which is way too hot for wool"

The iconic presentation of Connie Francis straight off the cutter really floored Betty

Darling isn't a second system in the kitchen going a bit too far?

Footnote:
My earlier offering has a context - see 1 minute in on the clip below. I was there at the time - living just down the road from Andrew who used to clog dance on the wooden bridge in our lane (Kettle bridge)

I understand it's been replaced with a supposedly temporary metal footbridge now Which one is Andrew www.kettlebridgeclogs.org/pastevnt/pOneEvent.php?evcoll=2014&evname=events/2014/20140501Barming&evphot=6

Amputating my legs to keep me in the kitchen was bad enough, but replacing my appliances with hifi equipment is just going too far!

I get my dates with PT and the Jones "stereo pair" thoroughly confused but it was around 1985 that the washing machines arrived. Andrew had to stop clog dancing shortly afterwards due to shin injuries sustained from the activitity. It was a road bridge in those days - they closed it to traffic a few (20?) years ago. It is the next bridge upstream the Medway from East Farleigh bridge where Chord gave birth to MartinT's amp.

"Darling, it's awfully uncomfortable down here! Couldn't we just get a rug to dampen down the sound reflections from the tiled floor?".

Betty gazed across the kitchen and finally gave voice to the question that he was dreading "I know they're supposed to sound better modded, dear" she said "but are you sure you can still call it a Techie 1210?"

Not very comfortable, Dear, but the sound is good.
Jeez, your new tiles have given in, come and help me out before I scream !
