milestomozart.blogspot.co.ukAlso well worth searching the archived blogs as there is some good info on reissues. Also affirms my view that the MI/HMV catalog was the best

Interesting blog, thanks! I want that Queen of Sheba on RR, although the Chandos recording is excellent.

The information on the HMV Columbia SAX series is some of the best I've seen on the web. Cross references to older reissues gives reasonable priced alternatives to some of the most expensive classical vinyl.

I need to explore the site in much more depth as there appears to be a lot of very useful info for the classical vinyl enthusiast ...
Thanks for pointing out the SAX feature - I had missed that!

Thanks to all of you for checking out our blog ... I noticed on our blogger stats page that we'd been getting a number of recent hits from readers at TAS and stumbled across this thread. I apologize that we haven't been able to put up a lot of new material lately (academic and professional obligations have prevented us to posting as much as we'd like), but I'm really hoping to start posting more content in the coming weeks of summer. We always welcome discussion and questions (we aren't experts by any means but are music and vinyl enthusiasts) and all new insights into the world of classical and jazz vinyl collecting!

Hi Jules - I responded to your post. General recommendations, mainly label-based, but if you want specific album recommendations, that might take a little more time. Simply a LOT of wonderful jazz albums on vinyl!

I have heard of those Three Blind Mice recordings but have never tried them out. I believe they just reissued a 3 LP box set of the Three Blind Mice recordings that can be purchased at Acoustic Sounds and Elusive Disc in the US.

If you want a left field Jazz recommendation then try the Three Blind Mice recordings from Japan which are usually excellent. Agreed, they're superb. I have: Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio - Midnight Sun on Three Blind Mice XRCD and it's a really great listen, superbly recorded.
