What is the best way to do this anyone please? im assumng you upload them as a wav file then convert the wav to FLAC!
but before this is it legal to do this being for my own personal use & also i will still retain the records

I hang on to my WAV files. I read the cliams that there is no difference between WAV and uncompressed FLAC, but my ears tell me different.

To get from the analogue sound from the record you will need an analogue to digitsl convertor ADC.
Many members are much better to suggest ones than I am.

I don't want to be forking out for any hardware. Prefer software.. I have a good Minidisc player i could transfer the Vinyl onto before transfering it to software for conversion. Would this do?

The Minidisc sounds like a good way to generate the data. Record the files as WAV and it's only a simple step using software on your PC to turn them into FLAC files. The problem is going to be getting the recorded files onto your PC - rocking horse poo is more abundant than PC Minidisc drives. You could get something like this and record direct from Minidisc to PC www.netstoredirect.com/startech-com-sound-cards/41889-startech-com-7-1-usb-audio-adapter-external-sound-card-with-spdif-digital-audio-0065030835466.html?gclid=CNrkmvGOm8YCFQKWtAodXxIAywThe recording element to the PC would be pretty straightforward because there would be no need to change any level settings as you'd have no analogue inputs to consider - the transfer would remain in the digital domain. I did some sound recording from the TV last year (Glasto), using optical to PC interface, and it was a doddle, because everything was done in the digital domain.

Think about getting a low cost ADC, Andr'e. Something like this will do the job and cost peanuts, or you might find a USB one:

These are good i had some Rane studio gear years ago.. This has USB's & A/D Converters, just the ticket but not cheap..Specialised household Hi-Fi means nothing to me anymore. If summert like this sounds good & does the buisness so be it.. I spent too much time & money messing about with pointless Hi-Fi im so far behind with 12" singles i doubt i'll ever catch up without a giagantic cash injection & a miracle finding them.. www.digitaldjtips.com/2015/06/review-rane-mp2015-mixer/
