So Chris Evans is slated to be the new presenter of Top Gear. That's me out. Can't stand the bloke or any of the programs he ever presented. But couldn't the BBC find someone cheaper to scupper the program?

No, I can't stand him either. Ever since his radio days and the 'inside jokes' I thought he was an over-inflated wanker. I shall await the new car programme that Clarkson/Hammond/May will hopefully make.

I once liked Evans - when he was on Radio London Became far too important, especially in his own eyes it seems. I was going off TG a bit anyway More time to listen to music

Well at least the Beeb is consistent, they've replaced one annoying git with another one. Mind you Evans is minor league compared to Clarkson.

Not a chance in hell Mike, cannot stand the bloke, his voice, his looks and most especially his fecking annoying personality. I really dislike TG and have not watched it in decades - I find it very boring and juvenile. Moot point anyway, as I don't have a TV licence and there is no way I'll make time to watch it on iPlayer. I really cannot stand CE and possibly find him more annoying than Clarkson, for different reasons. Clarkson is a violent, arrogant, rude thug, Evans is just a total pratt. Hahaha, ooo that feels better

Although I enjoy TG I feel the balance has shifted too nuch towards 'entertainment' to the detriment of the facts, Fifth Gear has it about right although that show has its own issues. As for Chris Evans - I can see why the BBC chose him to replace Clarkson as he is the obvious choice if the corporation are striving to maintain the status quo, however I question that approach. TG has become stale and I've thought for sometime that it needed a total revamp, with different (and younger) presenters. If it were down to me, my choice for TG lead presenter would be Chris Harris, the presenter of a skit imaginatively entitled Chris Harris On Cars on the /DRIVE Network, a US based concern. I think you will understand why after watching the couple of episodes I've posted below

I'll watch it and make my opinion after. Me too. ive grown to quite like Chris Evans over the last few years. Used to abhor him when he was on TFI Friday and stopped watching or listening to him until he took over from Terry Wogan on Radio 2. Thought he may have ruined it, but he didn't. Unfortunately, I could never stand Venessa Feltz on before him so stopped listening to him.
