Seeing all the dislikes on the other thread was getting me down, so I figured the thread needed an alter ego. Heck, I even like Broccoli, so I hope this thread will get some posts on the good things in life. Some of my likes in no particular order: Sunshine and blue skies, beaches, gentle waters, sunrises, sunsets, feeling healthy, youthfulness, helping others, music and hifi, afternoon naps, calm tranquil spaces, calm tranquil people, honesty, simplicity, silence, chocolate, dogs, cats, the cosmos, my favourite books, freedom from routine. I make no apologies for having lots of likes. I hope others do too, so fill yer boots

I like brocolli - and brussel sprouts. It reminds me of one of my greatest likes - my children. My father is always repeating the first words he remembers my son (Tim) saying at dinner "Rachel don't like broc-lee"

Pub with friends on a summer evening - lovely - coming home and listening to some vinyl . Discovering new music - a record that just clicks that you've never heard before. The best thing about the resurgence of vinyl is the amount of new music released on it.

Boring person that I am I don't have likes or dislikes. They appear to be more trouble than they are worth I have to say, reading this and other fora, and noting the extent to which partisan lines get drawn, I am reminded more and more of the merits of focussing on your own happiness, and not worrying about the world. Or as Voltaire put it in his final line of "Candide" "Il faut cultiver notre jardin"

Or as Voltaire put it in his final line of "Candide" "Il faut cultiver notre jardin" Hence the fashion for shaving off one's pubes. Some of the 'dislikes' seem so all-embracing one would think the dislikers would only be comfortable sat in a room by themselves listening to their own music .... wait, what's this forum about, again?

Likes is more my style. Helps everything and everyone. Best focus.
I like Waking up in the morning - beats the alternative quite well. My superb bed with topper, quilt and pillows. Heaven. If you don't have a good bed and bedroom do something (if you can) Stretching and Yoga. Need to anyway to keep the body from self locking. Enjoy it too. Music from the main system while Yoga. Supertramp and Iggy this am. Seeing 6 great little dogs and letting them out into the garden. Breakfast - yumm - Edit - listening to music of course Cycling to work, especially on quiet roads this time of year. Being challenged at work and using my brain. Yeh I get turned over too, but there's the contrast. Edit : Listening to music of course Tea and toast with Natex at 8.30am Lunch Cycling home, great wind down Peanut butter on little biscuit things - yumm Taking the dogs around the fields and sucking in the air and the country, hearing the birds, seeing birds, the odd deer, occasional fox Having a shower - you need it after a sweaty cycle ride Dinner, listening to music and watching some TV Bed - ahhhhh
This is every day (no work Sunday !) Boring ? Not for me. It's great

I followed you and smiled until iI saw you at work, then having a break for food at 8:30am! Unless it's the long days of June, I'm unlikely to even be awake at 8:30, let alone functioning in a job. I don't know how early starters do it in winter. My body just says "no chance!" Love the cycling and taking pleasure in your dogs though. Both are special to me too.

I used to get up much later and work later. Our stupid builders doing the house refurb changed that. I was so teed off with them I left the house before they got there, 7.30am Then I realised, more pleasure Hardly any traffic - a bonus for cyclists I got ahead of the day before it beat me up. Plus staying late I was too knackered to work properly The alarm goes at 4.30

I like getting up early (in my case 4:45am) and getting in to the office at around 5:50. The early 30 min drive is therapeutic. Coffee on, Spotify on, no-one around to bother me. I perform at my best in the mornings!
