Ah well, if you count CDs then I'd probably go for the Naxos classical label for the last decade or so
They started off cheap and cheerful in the late 80s and early 90s, with usually 2nd or 3rd rate performances and sound quality, and gradually morphed by 2000 or so into what is now a truly amazingly diverse and adventurous label, often enough with top class performances and demonstration class sq. And all at bargain/mid-price level, too. Damn fine job!

Island and Charisma before the big boys swallowed them up. Plus Harvest and Vertigo. Also nod to former and present independents such as Sanctuary and Madfish plus Hannibal for folk (RT and Sandy Denny).
Current Fav reissue label (along with Madfish) - Repertoire (Vertigo swirl era vinyl reissues).

For classical, 1960s era Decca and EMI. I agree with Jerry, Naxos have a truly amazing catalogue and so do BIS. Chandos are often interesting. I really miss Telarc.
For modern music, you're stuck with the label the performer is on so I don't follow labels as such. Chesky, Proprius, Opus all make great specialist recordings.

Can you do me a favour & post a picture of one of the new Repertoire Vertigo vinyl album releases, im wanting to look at the covers spine & also the label design? These are the two areas which are deciding points for me when buying new issues. Cressida 's/t' Cressida 'Asylum' Affinity s/t' Linda Hoyle 'Pieces Of Me' On another note.. It is very important imho that Rep re-issue as many of these albums on Vinyl to rid the market of the bootlegs, also people would love to own them providing they are top notch releases as the 1st issues on Swirley & Neon are well crazy priced on the used market.cos as people know Psych & early prog are the most collectable form of music LP's.

I have Cressida self titled, Affinity and Linda Hoyle. Will do some photos tomorrow. The label design is a variation on the swirl concept rather than reproduction, may be due to copyright. Sleeves appear to be as near as reasonably accurate repros for a reissue and they have poly lined inners. The Hoyle and Affinity sound more analogue than Cressida which is stated to be from 24/96 transfers remastered by John Astley. All half speed cut by Miles. I'm afraid I have never heard originals to reference the SQ on these but they sound pretty good to me - close to the KC vinyl reissues and clean fault free pressings.

Brilliant thanks look forward to the shots of these areas..
btw: Ben 'Ben' will be out later on in the year they tell me..
Years ago i had a near full collection bar two of UK 1st issue Swirly's in mint condition, the market price for this set nowadays would be frighteningly high but back when i was forced to sell them i did not get much for them.
If i remember i was missin the Gordon LP & Hokus Poke LP
What i di really wish i still had kept was New Zealand Swirl Vertigo issues of the first three King Crimson LP's & an Italian Swirley of Van Der Graaf Generator 'The Aerosol Grey Machine..
Nowadays there probably only be around a Dozen Swirlys id want in my collection as im no longer a collector..

This is how a spine from a Gate-fold sleeve is suppose to be constructed/look like. Any re-issue i buy with wide block spines goes straight back.

The spines aren't over wide maybe a third more than 70's LPs probably to accommodate the thicker 180 gram vinyl. Cressida having spine the wrong way round is just a fold. I've seen a lot worse. Actually comparing probably between 1 and 2 mm more than a 70's gatefold sleeve.

For sure, Decca for classical ... Not Nimbus, Naxos, DG ? I know I'm biased, but Opus Arte?

Nah ... as much as I enjoy other labels, for sheer consistency of output Decca has to be number one.
