As suggested on a different thread, what have been your biggest Ebay bargains and clunkers?

Great idea for a thread. I've had a lot of great buys but i really think my best was a pair of Spica Angelus for under £100. Only six pairs ever shipped to the UK and two definitely no longer in use, I sold them when i left the UK for 18 months but I Wish I'd stored them.
I also got an LP12 for £50 but it's a long time ago.
Worst? A "Linn LP12" lid in "Mint Condition" that turned out to be from some cheap Japanese deck. It had two cigarette burns and had been scratched all over with something like the end of a key.

My biggest bargain would be my Mirage M3si speakers - when new, they sold for about £3,700. I paid substantially less than 10% of that for them (I think it was £208) and left the poor previous owner standing on his drive, a broken man almost in tears. A returning expat moving back into his beautiful Surrey home, his wife had deemed them unacceptable, so he was going to be using a pair of those silly little Bose cube things on the end of his Quad system. Worst? Well I've been quite lucky, I think, so it was probably a record in poor condition or something.

Chris Great deal on the Mirage speakers. A good friend living in Camden had a pair of those to replace his Acoustat 2+2 and they were a very musical speaker.
Obviously for me the Nakamichi Dragon speakers were the best eBay Hifi acquisition. Worst: not sure really, nothing has been a disaster although I did fall for a used Siltech cable at silly money that, whilst genuine, had been badly butchered and poorly re terminated at one end which made an apparent bargain rather less so.
I did get another great bargain with another Siltech cable that was on EBay.com in the U.S. Owner had bought direct from Siltech main dealer in the Netherlands and had it shipped to US. Those nice people at US caroms could not believe that the fat bits of insulation were not full of drugs so they had made several small cuts into the outer insulation to look for white powder. Fortunately they didn't do any structural damage but the owner didn't want this cable in his otherwise pristine system. I bought the cable ( signature level FireWire with list price of $2000) for $150 as the only bidder. Still using it on the DCS FireWire network

Best: selling my modified BMW M-Sport 335d Coupe on eBay. Couldn't be happier, went for a decent price, buyer turned up to look at it and paid the full winning price. A very easy deal. Put paid to ever wanting to use Autotrader again.
Worst was buying a small TV I wanted for the bedroom. Seller, who had sold it as in the UK with free postage, turned out to be in Holland and tried to add a substantial charge for shipping it to the UK as he was no longer coming over to deliver it. I refused and he started calling me names, getting really shirty. Tosser.

Best A load of office furniture, some of which we still have. Chairs, tables, Bisley filing cabinets and others. Free Got two of my guys to rent a big van and go to Kensington. Bit like an office clearance. I think they would have to have paid for it to be taken away otherwise
2 Ladderax mahogany record cabinets. 2 separate auctions from the same seller. Great condition, 3 foot wide. 99p each
Those are the ones that stick out
Worst could well be an envelope printer that we never did get to print right. That was about £500 down the toilet

Ah, if none Hifi stuff is allowed, then worst without doubt was a Matra Simca Rancho I bought on eBay. Collected at night from a bible thumping religious nut. Deal done at Aust services by the Severn Bridge. Biggest load of junk ever. I only bought it to take my two German Shepherds to the woods for their regular walks but they had too much sense to get into the clapped out rust bucket which I had to pay the scrappie to come and take away.

Oh how I wish for a neighbour just like you It's rather like a random donation in a way. I'd like to think somebody down on their luck will spot the items and make a few quid to get them back on track. Alternately a real enthusiast will come across something they never thought they'd see again and treasure it.

Boring.
Nothing amazing or awful. Every buy was OK. Don't bother with it these days as I cannot collect anymore. Best was probably a very reasonable LP12
