having been stuck with member Craig for a week driving a Porsche 911 round Germany, I thought I'd better check out TAS to see what the fuss was about.
ive been an avid music listener for some 60 years and I've been into hifi sound for almost as long.
music taste runs from early classical instrumental music right through to today's pop music. I've got a particular interest in World music which has been broadened by streaming services from Qobus and Tidal.
listening is entirely stored HD tracks or streamed FLAC files.
system uses Aurender and Squeezebox transporter as sources, both clock locked to DCS Scarlatti stack which receives master clock signal from an Oscilloquartz BVA clock.
Pream is Ayre KXR, amps Halcro Dm88 mono blocks and speakers YG Anats, backed up with Wilson Watchdog subwoofer.
all sitting on Harmonic Resolution stands.
looking forward to learning from you guys.

Driving Germany in a 911 must have been a lot of fun, too. Join in, and when you're ready tell us why you chose the kit you have ended up with

That Porsche trip was something. Great food, booze and company - oh and a couple of days of business thrown in for balance. Mind you the 911 is absolutely awesome with an exhaust note that sets the blood racing, provided the road is as smooth as a millpond. A bit like the princess and the pea anything that deviates from perfectly flat is challenging (to the tooth fillings). Onn the smooth German autobahns it really comes into its own; but it is something again to be doing around 90 in significant traffic and to be passed as if stationary by monster beemers in the fast lane driven by nutters with a death wish and foot planted on the boards doing getting on for twice that speed.

The real impact on my digestive system was when, on one of the occasions we were well north of 100, a cement truck tried to beat the Pauli exclusion principle and occupy our space. We managed to avoid rear ending him but it gave Both of us a bit of a fright. most memorable moment for me though was driving across a rutted road in Flanders on the way to deVrede at Westvleteren to introduce Craig to Westvleteren 12 beer and Craig was heard to pray " God, please make it stop!" Hopefully a prayer for a better road surface, not a better driver.
