I like to keep my garden nice and it's looking great just now.

As you say......nice! That Eucalyptus gunnii is going to give you problems in years to come though. Nothing against eucs - I have probably had more of them planted in the UK than any other individual but I'd suggest that yours will split out in a few years and half of it could fall against the house (potentially causing damage) and the other half could fall on your neighbours or the road (potentially causing law suits). They grow faster than you may realise and that can spell trouble in the wrong place. If the tree had been single stemmed, you would probably have been fine, but that one is a problem. As each stem gets fatter, the area above the join will see the two stems pushing each other apart. You will get a little decay in the union area due to rainwater becoming trapped there, and that join will eventually fail. Cut one of them off, Chris. By the look of it, the one leaning towards your house would be the one to lose. Keep the more upright one.

I'd love my garden to look like that, but all I can manage is maintenance. It's too big at about 2 acres. I need to spend a full day strimming the wooded area next to the house. I would love to get this flat and debris free so that I could just use the mower!
I am attacking it small actions after having seen a snake in there at the weekend.

8 hours in and I have almost finished tidying up the woods with my brusch cutter! All because the Mrs does not like snakes.
