I'm John in Clitheroe and am very interested in classical music especially baroque and organ.
I am disabled and spend ~ 17 hours a day in bed. With Martin T and others on Cix help, I set up a reasonable, [?], set up in the bedroom with a NAD C370, an Ex Martin Hitachi tuner, Project turntable and phono amp, Pioneer DVD player, 2 x Mission 781s and a REL Q150. I won't mention cables! ;-)
Also have cassette and VHS as well and have Sky and an LG TV with an optical o/p going via a CYP DAC to the C370, so play TV through the C370 all the time.
I am interested in having good sound but am more likely to post when in need of assistance.
Thanks for having me! :-)
John

Welcome from me too John ...
Good to hear you enjoy classical music - I very much enjoy the Baroque period as well ... Which composers do you enjoy the most?

TVM :-) My favourite has to be Bach, especially organ music. I had classical organ lessons until forced to give up by health. I also like the early organ music by say, Stanley, Wesley et al. I do also like later music, especially melodic like Vidor, but Messian and the like is too much and Steve Reich serial stuff I can't stand. I also like Queen, Knoppler and so on. I have the great distinction of having played guitar in a band when at school and having auditioned twice for Opportunity Knocks. Don't call us, we'll call you! :-(

Hopefully they will be live on Radio 3 as well.

I'm going to take my son to the late night violin recital - he starting learning violin only a few weeks ago and is really enjoying it. He hasn't been to the Albert Hall and think he'll enjoy the experience ... Fingers crossed!
