Anyone else tried this player on their laptop or computer. It is a lot better than Jplay and according to a friend better than MQn version he has. It is very simple to install I had no bugs to work through Sound is very clean and detailed with a touch of warmth Like MQn it is free and will play DSD for those into that The best player memory player I have heard in my system www.head-fi.org/t/705387/bug-head-emperor-player-audiophile-player-from-japan/15

So many options (upsampling, & filters, even memeory config) to get my head around.....I've been playing with it since yesterday. I need a a few hours with it....it is very interesting and as you say John easy to install, initial set up is a little daunting but not bad in reality. It's needs ASIO to be installed BTW. Download Bug Head from here: oryaaaaa.world.coocan.jp/bughead/

I initially got it running without ASIO I found initial set up quite easy as you say lots to get your head round but very clean and dynamic sound straight away. Certainly worth a play. Had to lower the bass a bit on the Berhinger

The latest 4.79 seems solid and easy to install.

Excuse the ignorance, but what's a memory player?

It sounds ike you either had ASIO left over from a Jplay install or used an old wasapi Bug Head version One of the reasons I quickly uninstalled Jplay is that it seriously buggered my Windows 8.1 audio settings and left crap like that behind. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough!

Excuse the ignorance, but what's a memory player? Plays a music file after loading it in its entirety into memory, thus preventing hard disk accesses.

The idea is fewer reading errors at as not using SATA so a signal with fewer errors I am sure there is some file manipulation going on too

OK, thanks. It's kind of what I assumed, but I thought I ought to check.
