Do try the double filter and the recipe I posted earlier, it's really worth a try!

Well how about that ! Coffee is actually good for you Health benefits of coffee"The health benefits of coffee extend to nearly all parts of our body, and they are attributed to the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals within the bean itself. Once brewed, these nutrients seep into the dark liquid, which many of us then happily drink. For regular coffee-lovers, we have great news — you might be reaping unknown benefits from your daily cup, and we will detail these health benefits below. With all research, however, it’s important to keep in mind that correlation does not equal causation; it’s possible that coffee drinkers may have many healthy habits that contribute to their overall well-being. So, let’s look at the health benefits of coffee in detail. ... more on link

OMG. Moving up from a cheap generic Moka Pot to a Bialetti is like going from a Fiat to Ferrari!! What a thing of beauty. The internal / external finish and parts look higher quality and more importantly they *are* higher quality. Everything is textbook in operation and what a joy to see the coffee being delivered so smoothly and gently. Whisper quiet. I highly recommend the pleasure of this coffee when done right. And if you are going to try it, don't be tempted by something cheaper than a Bialetti - the real thing only costs £20-30 and you will save yourself a world of pain ... I now know why my old pot was a freebie.

For a single user like me, an Aeropress will beat it for time to make a coffee and the washing up afterwards.
Looks nice, though.

It's not quick if you're heating up and frothing milk like me, but pretty speedy for black drinkers like yourself. You forget about cleaning it till it has cooled down. I mainly just use it on the weekend and Aero during the week.

What an absolute pleasure it was to make my first Moka with the new Bialetti this morning. Using the new milk thermometer helped me get the milk spot on.

I've been looking for a coffee storage canister for a while and not seen anything I liked till this came up on Amazon. Airscape Coffee and Food Storage Canister - It has an internal lid which you press down till it sits over the coffee, forcing out the air through a valve and you press the handle down to seal it. Then there's a clear lid that sits on top. It just seems like a good design and is available in three different sizes - I got the small 250g one with -20% discount at the moment.

I know you guys are not great fans of " instant" coffee, but as Nescafe have stopped making their Gold Blend Barista Style, my old standby, I've had to start searching around for a new one. *BINGO* the best instant I've ever tasted, bar none - Carte Noire Intense Instant. I always used to use Carte Noir; Jeanette and I both quite liked it, but this Intense variation is another level. Generally I use cream, or creamer, when I use instant. Not with this stuff. It's still not proper coffee, but it's as close as I've ever come out of a supermarket jar.

After watching the video on YT supplied by young julesd68 I decided I would get a real coffee maker- Gaggia Classic - on Ebay Pre 2016 as thought of more highly by almost everyone. Worked out my bid price on ended auctions, looked like low to mid £100s maybe a bit more Prices went up and up, understandable for heavily modded, new parts, just serviced, super duper extras but also for those without a lot going for them. Boss becoming irritated at lack of proper coffee machine so feeling the pressure I was very happy when I found a good one and won it. Arrived and I found it was a Gaggia classic (Deluxe) not a Gaggia Classic. They look very much the same and must share some parts. Heavy and heavy duty machine. So far seems to make coffee probably better than the expired Delonghi For anyone else looking for a Classic, careful you don't buy a classic like me

That's great Mike, with the chance to source spare parts I'm sure this will be a great investment in the long term!

Hoping so The instructions are a little strange in places. Possibly translation from Italian. Gaining experience day by day. Seems odd to leave it to heat up for 6 minutes, run water through an empty head, put coffee in head, but not too high or it won't go in, then see it run coffee for only a short while before turning to water colour Coffee tastes good though Steam wand thing try out soon

Being the adventurous sort, one of these has just arrived. It fits neatly into the bottom of the fridge door. I read a lot of reviews and viewed a lot of adverts, and to my mind, this was the best of the lot for a reasonable price. smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B081N537XR?th=1

I don't like hot tea or iced coffee. I do like iced tea and hot coffee. I bought it mainly for coffee, but during the summer (whichever week that turns out to be this year) some iced Earl Grey may be on the cards, and of course, you can fill the basket with fresh fruit, such as strawberries and raspberries too, or a mixture of green tea and fresh fruit.

I bought a precision basket!
Result is a much more consistent extraction.
Went from a 2 to 0.9 on the grind size dial on the Mignon Specialita.
Finer grind, finer flavour, ask the messiah James H😂
