I'm terrified of buying a coffee machine. I drink too much coffee already. Well, We had better not start talking about the wonderful smells of home roasting etc. then?

It's more high-tech looking than my Bialetti.

I have used an Aeropress for a couple of years now and if you use it inverted (there are YT vids about it) and get a stainless steel filter it makes excellent espresso. Also on YT is one of the best hacks ever to get frothy milk. Get an old caffetiere with a plastic body, for one cup pour milk to just over where the bottom of the body frame shows the glass inner (I fond that 1% milk - the orange or purple caps is best) Put the plunger in the Caffetiere and plung it up and down vigorously until the resistance is really strong, the volume should have doubled due to the air added. Put it in the Microwave for about 1min 10s until it rises to the top et Voila you have the smoothest creamiest frothed milk ever. If only the cafe's did it this way there would never be a poor froth or froth lacking in substance. It does all depend on the quality of the milk and I have found that as you reach the bottom of 2 or 4 pinter that the results are not as good. Semi-Skimmed milk does not give very good results IMO (watery and thin)

Milk? MILK? In coffee? Yuk! Sacrilege, haven't put milk in my coffee since 1983! Good hack though for those that do - I'm an Aeropress man too, been using one for years, I even take it on holiday with a grinder!

Nothing wrong with milk in coffee in my opinion, just not every coffee. My first coffee of the day is usually a cappuccino. Then it is on to espresso, with maybe a latte mid afternoon.

It's a cappuccino for those of us who can't be bothered to write the word out correctly and who don't always pay best attention to their spelling ...

It ought to be a tiny little cappucino. About the same size as an espresso. That would serve you milk drinkers right!

Can't understand milk in coffee, ruins the flavour, but each to their own. I rarely have milk in tea either, as I don't buy milk at home.

The funny thing is I was having my haircut this morning and I was brought a coffee - I had asked for milk but they forgot!
It was very high quality coffee and I have to say I really enjoyed it ...

I'm past the age where I have to care about such things so I'll stand up and admit it - I sometimes have a squirt of vanilla syrup in my Americano Grande.

It was very high quality coffee and I have to say I really enjoyed it ... My maxim is poor coffee needs a lift, especially instant, but that's not really coffee IMHO. If it's good quality fresh coffee, it just needs water - then you can really taste what's going on in the brew
