Sometimes the bidding on an item is crazy, other times no-one is interested. You have to play the long game with e-Bay.

To many people it becomes more about "winning". That's why auctions invariably go for more than buy it now. It's nuts if you ask me.

Someone was selling a Roksan deck, that I was bidding for. A foreign buyer won it for £1 than my offer. The sale wasn't followed through and I got a message offering it to me at the price I had offered, only for the seller to change his mind cancel the offer and list it for auction. I said I was still interested but no response. It was sold and now has been listed again my the same seller I like buy it now when the price is reasonable. Sometimes however an item doesn't sell and gets listed as an auction and then the final price ends up way more than the buy it now price had been.

Real bargains can sometimes be had if you search for misspelled names.
