I thought I'd open a thread where we can share any widely available (supermarket?) bargains. For instance, I've just purchased a 5 CD set of Chet Baker recordings (currently on Amazon for between £9.99 and £28.89 new) for three quid in my local Sainsburys. It's a well presented set with each CD in a cardboard sleeve bearing the artwork from the original vinyl all contained in a pretty solid cardboard box. Also included is a nice 20 page booklet with a mini biography, album and session details, plus 7 illustrations.
The albums are as follows.
CD 1: Chet Baker Sings & Plays CD 2: Chet Baker Sings CD 3: Chet Baker & Crew CD 4: In New York CD 5: Plays The Best Of Lerner & Loewe
Over to you guys.

You could get lucky Thre's a company trading via Amazon called zoverstocks who I suspect you already know of. I've bought loads of their used £0.01 CDs (there is a £1.26 postage fee) and never yet been disappointed with the quality. It's a great way of trying out unknown and little known artists (and classical composers too) on whom you might not ordinarily risk spending the full "new" price.

They are good as long as you don't have any questions about detail like tracks. Can take an extra couple of days over others. Quick to sort if the CD goes missing Often 1p less than the next least expensive Wonder why that is ?

Here's a bargain I bought a while back, but it's still at a great price; The Mark Selby Box Set. Three CDs and a DVD for £7.50 new, or slightly less to buy used. www.amazon.co.uk/Mark-Selby-Box-Set-3CD/dp/B00IFTU120If you've not heard him there's plenty of his tracks available on YouTube as long as you don't get him confused with the snooker player of the same name.

I buy a few per month from Zoverstocks and have managed to get a few excellent albums that I might not othwise have bought through taking a punt as they were £0.01. You probably already know but Zoverstocks is the selling arm of Music Magpie as is the retail stores That's Entertainment.

Tales of dope, booze, and sleaze eh? Sounds very interesting indeed. Try typing "Chet Baker Box Set" into the search box on Amazon for a few bargain boxes.

After searching on Google I found the title, and with 1 1/2 minutes to go on eBay I got a set for under a fiver (plus £2 postage), and the adrenalin rush peaked. So quite happy.
Thanks for the nod.
