This morning my wife noticed there was an 'X' drawn on the dirt of my car (which I've since removed) and the push button petrol cap was weirdly open.
I live in Berkshire and gave heard of thieves leaving tell tell on or around future targets so have let the police know on 101 just in case. We will also be keeping a closer eye on the car.
Just thought I'd let you know in case you see anything suspicious too.

You could invest in a locking fuel cap.
Do you have a local neighbourhood watch scheme ?

Lol yeah not sure what was going on there as it is a locking fuel cap.
Yes I was asked to join a couple of years ago when there was a spate of hooligans hanging around in the area, but a family member advised not to put my head above the parapet.

My local coordinator advised us all to ring the police (101 or 999 depending on the situation) and let the professionals do what they are trained for.
It's not about direct action, just keeping an eye out and vehicle registration numbers are good things to write down.
We all need to be vigilant to help us, and our neighbours, be crime free.

Exactly, I've reported it and 101 said mine and the car details will be passed onto the local officers for them to keep an eye out.
