That damned waiting room drives me to near violence. There MUST be a better way!
I look forward to a better programme this year.

Agreed!
I found the programme last year somewhat underwhelming ...

So the programme has been released ...
There are definitely a few more things to tempt me. For me, the most interesting concerts this year are those featuring early music ...
Proms Chamber Music 1 - Tallis Prom 19 - Bach solo violin works Prom 21- Bach solo violin pt 2 Prom 68 - Yo-Yo Ma plays Bach (see how quick this sells out!!) Proms Saturday Matinee - early music
Suprised they are doing an entire Sibelius cycle only a few months after the Berlin Phil at the Barbican ...

Prom 56 for me, need that Stravinsky Rites of Spring!
I'm still reading through the list despite starting on Thursday.

Yep that should be awesome ...
I notice they are including Mendelssohn violin concerto in that programme (not a favourite of mine) played by Alina Ibragimova. She is getting so heavily promoted in this year - I know of at least four Proms she is playing in! Never heard of her until now - she must have a very good agent!!

Me too, and I don't mind the Mendelssohn being in the programme as it'll pacify Ruth, who isn't too partial to the Stravinsky.

Just a little reminder for y'all to be online at 9am this Saturday if you want to get any decent Proms tickets ...

Well done, Jules. I was only position 1100 or so when I got in, waited 30 mins and got the Stravinsky tickets

Interesting, and really encouraging news. Classical music is still very much alive!
