We've done guitarists so though we'd better move onto drummers Dave Grohl - seen a number of his solo performances at Foo Fighters concerts and he's impressive Taylor Hawkins - Foo a Fighters resident drummer and pretty damn fine Phil Collins - know done people would disagree but I rate him up there with the best. Rick Allen from Def Leppard - come on, 1 armed drummer - he's amzing considering his disability Joe Morello - Dave Brubeck Quartet, so versatile! John Bonham - Led Zeppelin and easily one of the top 10 Keith Moon - The Who Nick Mason - Pink Floyd. Simples! Ringo Starr - The Beatles Mick Fleetwood - Fleetwood Mac Steve Adler - Guns 'N Roses Lars Ulrich - Metallica Roger Taylor - Queen P.

Foxtrot ,selling England by the pound, face value and Peter Gabriel 3 mark Collins out as the best musical drummer ever. Seemless drumming that is integral to the music, not just a rhythmic afterthought or ostentatious boring jazz self indulgence.

The answer has to be Steve Gadd - check out any of his solo albums or any of his extensive session work. Saw him playing in James Taylor's band at the Albert Hall recently. Sublime.

Agree about Collins, his timing is excellent. Listen also to Hello, I Must Be Going.
