I'm really quite a tolerant and non-judgemental sort of person, or try to be. But at times, even I find myself saying: "You're talking shite, mate. Utter shite."
One such instance was last year when I was searching Beatles threads and came to one individual who was convinced John Lennon didn't play the harmonica on the Please Please Me album. I can only presume he hadn't heard any of the out-takes from the sessions.
Another from the weekend was regarding Pioneer's 505 2 headphones from the '70s with the owner giving a description and another who "seriously questioned" it using leather in it's construction. Hell, just about every set of headphones from this period used a leather headband. But this one wouldn't have it. In his opinion it was vinyl wrap. Smell apart, the difference between the two would be pretty obvious. I have a pair of 305s and they're awash with leather. Wouldn't be surprised if a small raccoon hadn't gone into their construction.

Discussion of politics or religion should be avoided as it nearly always ends in tears. Amen to that.

No more politics please, DQ. I may have a different viewpoint but all we would do is argue endlessly and no-one would ever win.

It was not politics , i was merely pointing out the net is full of self interested amoral bastards whose decisions have far more significant consequences than a faux leather headphone strap .

I disagree, it was pointed and revealed your personal bias. The problem with politics is that we all have personal biases, we can't help it. Perhaps we could simply agree that all politicians are an undesirable necessity? Perhaps more of them should listen to music.

Well, yes, I can imagine that to be so, Mr Quinn. But that wasn't really the point of thread. The point of the thread was simply to point out the sort of tosh that people can have a habit of coming out with.
