Whilst watching some of the TV coverage of the service for Richard III in Leicester yesterday, I discovered the most wonderful choral work I have heard in some time, sung by the choir to commemorate him -
’Take him earth for cherishing’ by Herbert Howells. I used to sing lots of HH as a chorister in the 70’s, but don’t remember ever singing anything as beautiful as this!
