Some of the world's top violinists are soon to be appearing at the LSO's International Violin Festival - lso.co.uk/lso-international-violin-festivalA great chance to catch up on your favourite concertos or violinists. I like the look of the excellent Christian Tetzlaff playing the Beethoven and Isabelle Faust taking on the Brahms ... I'd love to go to the discussion on 12 April where they try to find out if it's possible to distinguish between the sound of a Strad and a top modern instrument; there's even an audience vote. Wouldn't mind seeing one of the violin-making demos either!

I'd love to hear the Stradivarius versus modern instrument comparison.

Me too - will do my best to get to this ...
6–6.45pm, Hall Panel Discussion: A Guide to Violin Sound Can you tell the difference between a Strad and a factory-made violin from sound alone? A lively panel debate, chaired by Sean Bishop of Bishop Instruments and Bows, on what makes one instrument sound so different from another – including demonstrations by LSO Leader Roman Simovic and contributions from London violin maker Philip Ihle. Free entry, no ticket required
