I'm guessing he took his name from the 1975 Television single Little Johnny Jewel parts 1&2. Siouxsie & The Banshees also covered it in '87.

@ Slinger, thanks for enlightening us with the origin of his name, never the wiser if you hadn't posted. mike. same here, still going through his catalogue in soundcloud, the one's i linked are the more accessible one's, apart form the Chromatics and Glass Candy collaborations, his soundtrack/instrumental work are very good, even through soundcloud, the sound quality is very good.

There's a bit of everything in his catalogue, Miss Broadway is interesting, i form a picture of a Jap Kawaii girly but in a sexy screaming banshee way, i like how he blended the high pitch screeching and yells into the synth and that euro disco beat, in parts some of his stuff is quite disturbing and voyeuristic i thought, still checking it out as most of the tracks are quite long and takes you through it's soundscape in stages.
p.s. check out the track 'Hallloween', their homage to John Carpenter's film, really good.
