I have always been interested in audio with a marked preference for vintage. I am found of British products, but have interest in some obscure French made audio gears as well (Charlin, Audiotec ,Supravox...) I am always interested in sharing with others, and learning from others when it comes to audio. My installation is made of mostly of old pieces of Quad (Sugden amplifier that I have found lately that still needs some attention) both tubes and ss , and when I want to mesmerize myself, I switch from Quad esl's to Audiotec E65 (vintage french made loudspeakers). It shows me how wonderfull the esl's are , and how amazing the Audiotec are. Now , the Audiotec were own by someone who never managed to sell them (outdated non inviting appearance from stock, by todays standard that is) and the Quad esl's were bought in non-working condition from a Montréal Hi-fi shop who had them collecting dust in there basement. To sum it all up ...I am a cheapskate. And I suspect I may not be alone at this.
Hello to you all Michel

I will try to get my hand on some pictures I had on my previous computer (just replaced it, and still attempting to recover and transfer my data from the dead one). For the time being I have found a youtube video that I had not seen before. It shows Audiotec E75C loudspeakers driven by a Audiotec PA800D 50W integrated amplifier. Sadly the music chosen for this clip does not do justice to the set-up (no youtube audio track can do justice anyway) ; kThe speaker drivers used back then had their membrane doped individualy in such a way that should I ever loose a driver on one of mine it will most likely be the end of it. These are some of the most pleasing loudspeakers I have heard after the Quad ESL's I have used them with a Quad 303 405 & sugden A21 series III (20 watt A/B 3 - 5 W class A)

Placing the amp on one speaker wouldn't exactly be best practice in my book!

Placing the amp on one speaker wouldn't exactly be best practice in my book! ...Neither in mine ! And we are, for some of us candidate to disposophobia. I , myself , make sure not to have more than a pair of loudspeakers in a room ... Now don't ask about my cupboards.
