I've been revamping the power supply on my GK-71 valve amp making it dual mono to match the amps themselves.
It's not very pretty ( ) with the amp perched on top of each PSU, but it (they) now take up less floor space.
The GK-71 is configured in triode mode so is similar to the GM-70 triode.

Looks a good build Must of been a lot of hours making them Sure did, especially at the pace I work.
I used several bits from my 833a mega amps, so they are now in the queue for upgrading. HT is being raise from 950v to somewhere about 1350v with new transformers and chokes, with the PSU caps now in banks of 4. (each cap rated at 450V).
But I need to get my classic scramblers prepared first as the new season starts in four weeks time.

Nice build and great pride of ownership, I'm sure.
How do they sound compared with the 833s?

Nice build and great pride of ownership, I'm sure. How do they sound compared with the 833s? My aural memory is not very reliable I'm afraid.
I'll tell you more when the 833a rebuild is complete, but it will be a while.

Couldn't have them in my house. Not a concentric pair! ? Now you go careful with those scramblers. You really are an old man now, you know. Hip replacements are just over the horizon! All joking aside, they look great Philip. I hope to hear them at the next Owston. Don't let anyone tell you they are shoddy!

I'm not sure if it matters to you but your pics link to your entire bucket. You might not want everyone to see all your pics.

They would have to be or they would be dead in 5 minutes That is strictly a mans hifi . When Phil first started this hobby he dived in the deep. End far too quick, a number of us behind his back used to share a serious concern over his safety. But he seems to have 9 lives. He is a great contributor to the day valve amp scratch build fraternity. We love him. He is very thick skinned and tends not to take offence no matter how much we try offending him.

Really interested in your amps Phil. I have been reading your thread on this amp www.world-designs.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=83066The DIY bug has bitten hard, and at some point I would like to attempt a power amp build and I'm at the very early stage of looking for an amp to build. You make no mention to the sound of the amp, can you comment more here, thanks.
