Superlux been running 24/7 playing music in the other room out of earshot for a couple of days now.
Compared to new they have opened up nicely. Plenty of crisp detail no sibilance,my big warm sounding detailed and deep bass. Separations pretty good too, plenty of "out of the head" moments.
Glad I got them, great for the money.

John easiest way to put them on is with the handle of a teaspoon a bit like putting a bicycle tyre on...they fit all the superluxes should you feel the need to experiment. You can just swap them over to the cans getting used. Headfi had a good review of the 330/440/660-proper giant killer performance for reasonable money!
The 330s get my vote...

Let us know how you get on.....very different experience to a full rig-just as satisfying IMHO ( a great way to hear subtle changes such as cables/fuses/plugs)

I found John that they clamp the head a bit tight making them a bit uncomfy. Gently bend the earpieces apart wider to gently widen the metal wire headband. Much better.

John, They might not fit your head, cans comfort is a very personal thing. If discomfort distracts you the whole experience is lost. A personal gripe of mine is cable noise transmitted mechanically to the cans when you move. Anybody near you with senn 650s or 990 beyers to let you try comfy cans?
I can sit for hours just listening to music in complete comfort-best so far is my 700s they literally disapear-really light/comfortable and the quietest cable ive experienced so far.

I had 600 and 701 I preferred the 701 as the 600 did not have enough slam for me. But even the 701 I did not keep, cannot remember why I got rid of them. When I visited Stan a few times I tried some of his expensive headphones but not thought yes I want this. I not heard the 700s. Perhaps I am not a headphone guy

Not really a headphone guy either, but for sitting at the PC they are perfect for me. Its a bonus that they sound very good and are comfortable, but they wont replace the experience of sitting down in front of the speakers. That said, have the obvious advantages and its good to have the facility.

I think for me be just something I use when I am Holiday guys. When I had the HD600 I changed the wiring made them very holographic but still lacked the drive I like to hear with rock. Made everything a bit MOR Maybe one day I get to try some real expensive headphones and change my mind I got them to be comfortable but still find I do not want to listen for long periods

I work really unsociable hours and benefit from cans to let me chill out and enjoy music without disturbing my family or neighbours. When I can, I play my main rig- headphones cant let you feel the physical sensation of bass in a room. I often feel your brain fills in the difference once attuned.

You do need to tune your ears into headphones...very different experience from an open room and speakers. That said, both have their advantages and have to say headphones on the PC setup has changed the way I work for the better.
Like most things in hifi I guess, yer pays yer money...

..perhaps I need an "auxiliary" set of earphones strapped to my chest to let me recreate that bass thump? Chest-phones..if you will.

I needed a closed pair of headphones for work / cranking it up on trains, so opted for a pair of Sony MDR-V6. Never heard them before, got them for £70 all-in from eBay. Always wanted to try them due to seeing DJs with them so much when I was growing up, and their reputation for good sound + good studio monitoring abilities.
