As I have only used fixed headshell arms (unless you count the rather tragic Linn Basik arm) I have no experience of headshells. The Sony PS-6750 will arrive Tuesday and the headshell fitted looks to be a throwaway job priced at a tenner.
I can buy the correct Sony Magnesium jobbie for £29 but I think I'd rather get something a bit nicer. The ones that spring to mind are the Sumiko HS-12 or the very similar Jelco. I can also get an Audio Technica ATLT13A cheaply. then there are the Yamamoto sound ebony and boxwood headshells. Do they make a big difference?
I will initially be using a Linn K18 MM cartridge but will likely go down the DL-103 variants route, or use an OC9/At33 if I like the deck.
Any advice is welcome.

The Sumiko is a very capable headshell and difficult to beat on price. If you want the best that I've heard, the Thomas Schick is quite superb.
